Visitation Street by Ivy Pochoda
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book was terrific. It wasn't so much about what was happening, but more about the affects on other people and how their secrets began to unfold. Two young girls are bored on a very hot day and take their raft, without their parents knowing, out onto the water. Two boys, plus a man and an alcoholic see "something". The man finds one of the girls and carries her back to get help.
The background (if I can call it that) was so Brooklyn that I could hear the accents and noises and smell the city as I was reading.
