The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What a wonderful story. It draws you in and keeps you turning pages incessantly. Basically, deep down, it could be called a love story, but with so many twists. It is a classic.
A young boy is taken by his father to a depository for books called the cemetery of forgotten books and allowed to choose a book for himself. He chose a book and took it home and read it and reread it.
He decided to try to locate the writer and this decision started a whole lifetime of escapade.
Its a very long read and if you want to be dispersed into another time, this is the book for you.
