The Drop by Michael Connelly
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Another winner with Harry returning to the force for 39 more months with the deferred pension plan. In The Drop, Harry is charged with two cases; one in the OU unit and one live. The problem with the live case is that it is his old enemy, Irvin Irving's. His son has died and Irving believes that its murder, or at least wants Bosch to prove that its murder. In the OU Harry finds a serial killer that has been on the loose for over twenty years. In this story we now see how Harry is already training his daughter, Maddie, for the force. She is only 15, but smart and can really handle herself. I can see some very good stories coming from this.
