Friendship Bread by Darien Gee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
It really should be a 4 1/2 star book. I truly enjoyed this book. It was heartwarming to say the least. It was much more than a chic lit. Everything made sense and was all intertwined with the Amish Friendship Bread. One day a plate of cake plus a bag of starter is left on the doorstep of Julia, a mom of a little girl named Gracie and mom to Josh, who passed away five years earlier. Julia has been in a state of depression ever since her son died, but tries to keep going for the sake of her daughter who was born four months after her brother died.
The Turns and twists that the story takes are brilliant. A very satisfying read and also good if you like to bake. There are wonderful recipes at the back of the book.
