The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
A well written story, especially given that its a first novel. It was story chocked full of decisions and very hard decisions at that. Isabel is basically barren after having three miscarriages and lives with her husband, Tom, on a deserted piece of land where he is a lighthouse keeper. One day a small boat washes up on shore with a dead man and a small baby girl who is crying. Isabel believes that its a gift from God and convinces Tom that they should not report it to the authorities and keep and care for the baby. This sets off a chain of events that continues right up until the very end of the novel. A good read.
