I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I was pulled into this story in a way that is hard to explain, but the book was very hard to put down. I haven't enjoyed this type of story since I read "The Five People You Meet In Heaven", by Mitch Albom.
Ed is a taxi driver and the book opens at a very crucial point in a foiled bank robbery. We meet Ed and his friends, Ritchie and Marv, and also Audrey. They have all been friends for years and are about 19 and 20.
Nothing seems unusual until Ed receives a playing card in the mail with three addresses on it. This is when the story really begins and what a beautiful story it is.
