Big Driver by Stephen King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Excellent novella by Stephen King. A woman writer is an invited speaker to various locations in libraries and other venues throughout the year and she is planning on using the money she is gifted as her retirement. On one of her talking engagements, the librarian there was very helpful in guiding her to a better, shorter route for her return home. When she arrives at a certain spot in the road, there are pieces of wood with nails poking up and she is unable to stop in time to avoid a flat tire. A big fellow driving a truck came to her rescue and her ordeal began.
A great read with a great ending.
