FAREWELL TO DREAMS: A Novel of Fatal Insomnia by C.J. Lyons
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
What a ride this book was! From the start to finish it was only a 24 hour period, but so much happened during that time. There were tunnels under a neighbourhood of the city and terrible crimes were taking place there. When Dr. Rossi, who worked in ER and was also part of an advocacy group, became aware that bad things were happening to children and young people, but also that she was developing a condition that turned out to be very serious, she decided to help the police.
It almost played out like a game of chess with each player being taken out in one way or another by the bigger players.
This was my first medical mystery and I must say that it was very good. Fatal Insomnia is a very rare condition and knowing that actually gave the book a degree of truth.
